Luxembourg offers a seasonal worker visa for non-EU citizens to work in specific sectors during their peak seasons. The visa allows stays between 1 week and a maximum of 5 months within 12 months. Renewals might be possible to reach the 5-month limit but you’ll need to leave Luxembourg when the visa expires.
Who can apply?
- Citizens from countries outside the European Union (EU).
What jobs are eligible?
- This visa is designed for seasonal work in sectors like:
- Agriculture (harvesting)
- Horticulture
- Tourism
- Hospitality
What are the visa requirements?
- A signed seasonal job contract with a Luxembourg company. This is crucial as the company needs to first demonstrate they couldn’t find a local or EU candidate to fill the position.
- You’ll need a completed visa application form.
- Valid passport.
- Proof of sufficient financial resources for your stay.
- Proof of health insurance coverage.
What’s the visa process?
- Find a seasonal job: Look for positions advertised online or directly contact companies in Luxembourg.
- Secure a job offer: Negotiate and sign a seasonal work contract with your employer.
- Employer applies for LMIA (optional): In some cases, your employer might need to apply for a Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) to prove they couldn’t find a local candidate.
- Apply for the visa: Once you have a job offer (and LMIA if required), submit your visa application to the Luxembourg embassy or consulate in your home country.
