New Zealand Accredited Employer Work Visa (Main Visa to Work)

The New Zealand Accredited Employer Work Visa is a temporary work visa for up to 5 years. The AEWV is the main temporary work visa in New Zealand. It is designed to make it easier for employers to hire skilled migrants where genuine skill or labor shortages exist. As of 17 April 2024, Immigration New Zealand (INZ) has approved 117,929 AEWV applications, and there are 34,624 accredited employers.

This Visa allows you to work in New Zealand for an accredited employer. You must receive a Job offer. An accredited employer in NZ is approved by Immigration New Zealand to hire skilled workers on the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV).

Median Wage in New Zealand

With this visa, you can also study in NZ for up to 3 months in any 12 months. You must be paid NZD 29.66 an hour. Additionally, if you are coming to NZ on AEWV, your employer will give you settlement support.
